My 13 year old Maltese, Pearl, does the same thing. She will lay on me like a ragdoll for quite awhile, but then gets up an runs around and around. She make little growly sounds while she’s doing it. She is an old lady but you would never know it!!!

my cousin’s maltese does that too. it’s so cute and hyper ;D
oh,and also, when i blow on my dog’s nose, she almost always manages to nip me on the face! it hurts, but she’s so funny when i get her in a hyper mood!
well, i have a lhaso apso- maltese mix, Mia, and she does the SAME exact thing. and now she’s turning 7, and she still thinks she is a puppy! she’s been running circles like that for so long! must be some maltese’s love that. because, i agree, some are very quiet and calm. i’m getting a maltese puppy in a couple days! so we’ll see if she does the same thing.

My wife’s Maltese Maximus does that same thing out of nowhere. He just takes off running around the house as fast as he can.
