Best place to find any purebred dog is akc.org You can find a list of breeders in your area or contact the breed club secretary for free information on the breed and referrals to breeders. You'll need to educate yourself on the potential health and hereditary problems in this (or any) breed and find out, too, if there are any ways to test for them. You'll want to buy a puppy or dog from parents who were tested and passed those tests. Maltese are a "nonshedding" breed which means they don't lose a lot of hair seasonally but they lose some hair every day, as we do. This means you have to brush and comb them daily, all over, to prevent tangling. I don't know if they are hypoallergenic nor if any breed truly is. The breed club secretary can answer all or most of your questions and tell you much more than I can.

1. Only a bit you need to trim every once and a while
2. Ask a doctor
3 Breeder or local newspapers that might have advertisments in them Some in my papers cost about $700AU
4. Trim them, Play with them, Keep it fit, and the rest like: Feeding, Grooming ect ect.

Petfinder.com - they shed
consult your doctor regarding the asthmatic child first.
from a breeder they cost about $800.00 to $3500.00
from a shelter or rescue they are about $100.00 to $300.00.

best bet would be the petfinder or a rescue!
