I doubt it because Maltese are popular dogs.

    Try craigslist.

I haven’t used it personally, but I’ve heard a lot of good reviews about it.

Or try your local shelter, save a life and adopt a dog.

Does it have to be a puppy? We just adopted a 1 year old Maltese and he only cost us $250. He was already house-trained and is a real treasure. Granted, i am in Australia, but there must be places in California that also adopt dogs out. Just make sure you do your research and find a dog that has been given up for a good reason and not been abandoned. That way you know you are getting a dog from a loving home.

Our dog was given up by an elderly lady who had to go into a Nursing Home. She obviously loved him to death because he is such a good (and loving) dog to us.

    Good luck!!

Why don’t you look for a rescue center? They often have pure bred dogs that really need a home. They are also not expensive since adoption fees are around seventy five dollars! You could have a puupy for not very much and provide a home for a dog that needs one. Consider an older dog also if you are not home often, they are already trained in manners and are content to rest during the day.
