MALTESE PUPPY?
Coach X asked:
I not long ago got a maltese puppy. He usually weights 3 lbs! I have seen alternative Maltese puppies in house pet stores and on the internet, etc. and Walter, my dog, looks zero similar to them. We have papers, but I’m only apropos reduction and reduction assured which he unequivocally is a Maltese. Any opinions/advice/information?????

Papers from where? AKC? Don’t go by pet stores puppies - they’re from puppy mills and crappy examples of the breed. If yours is from a reputable breeder, don’t worry. Can you put up a photo?
Check w a vet. They have books about the breed like the way the face is suppose to look, the body, fur and tails are all indications of a breed. But like the one before me, cant say much with out a pic. And honestly, papers dont mean anything. I have a *papered* Min Pin that is butt ugly hehe
he may be a malti poo some dogs are just diffrent lookin
It depends on where you got your Maltese. If you got him from a reputable Maltese breeder, then it probably is just a really small Maltese, don’t worry then, it should get bigger. If you got it from a pet store or a backyard breeder, then it might not be… take it to a vet or a reputable breeder and see if they think it is a Maltese. Here are some obvious questions to ask yourself about your “Maltese”:
~Is his fur white? Maltese only come in white.
~He should be 5 to 10 inches and 3 to 7 pounds.
~Hair should be long silky, and never stop growing.
~ Where did you get the dog from. This would have a huge impact on whether or not you dog is purebred.
try going to:
they have lots of pictures to look at to see if your dog looks like them or not.
