Calm down he's perfectly fine. Don't force him to eat. Feed him an alloted amount of food twice a day and don't be overly concerned if he sometimes doesn't take it. Become worried if he doesn't eat for a few days or starts to vomit constantly.

The Dog is cute. But its very inappropriate to contort this dog's body the way you have done.

It is cute. But you should be ashamed of yourself for being a puppymiller/backyard breeder. No reputable breeder would sell the runts as if they were a separate breed.
Breeders are supposed to improve the breed, not mutilate it.

You're going to have to change your plans, and I truly hope those plans didn't including breeding the dog. AKC does not recognize any teacup breeds (for good reason). Secondly, maltese are one of the most expensive breeds out there and no one is going to give you a free puppy or even free dog. Third, you can get them at rescue groups, but they are older and have been spayed already. Fourth, AKC doesn't mean a thing in terms of the health of the dog if it was poorly bred (and most are). Have you researched the genetic conditions these dogs are prone to? A poorly bred dog is guaranteed to have at least one of them, so if you find someone selling puppies for $200 or $300, I hope you have enough sense to run.

If your puppy seems healthy other than his lack of appetite (ie he's playing normally, seems bright eyed, wags his tail and isn't vomiting or having diarrhea) he may just be trying to adjust to his new home.

Some puppies lose their appetite or seem a bit 'depressed' as they try to get used to their new surroundings and family. This usually only lasts a few days or a week or so.

But, if your pup seems like he has no energy, isn't eating or drinking, and is vomiting, having diarrhea or has discharge from his eyes or nose or is coughing then you need to take him to see a veterinarian right away.

There's a lot of new things to learn when you get your first puppy, and a lot of questions! check out the website below as it's especially designed to help new puppy owners raise happy, healthy puppies. There's tons of free information, tips and advice as well as lots of fun puppy stuff like photo contests, jigsaws, puppy quotes, cute videos and more.

Good luck with your puppy, enjoy him!

Sorry, but it's AKC. Not ACK. There is no such thing as a "tea cup Maltese" or tea cup in ANY breed. You certainly won't find a free "tea cup" dog anywhere. Back yard breeders breed runts to runts to get the small size and sell them a lot more then healthy pups of that breed. No such thing as a "free" dog because you still have to come up with food, shelter, vet bills..wait, did you think those things would be free too? If you want free, get a stuff toy. They stay the same size. No barking, no chewing, no flees. No messes to pick up after. If you want a real dog try the animal shelters in your area- they are cheaper then BYB's and pet shops.
